This canine patient had several problems in her mouth causing pain and stinky breath. Unfortunately, periodontal disease — infections/disease of the gums — had progressed to the point that several teeth had severe enough root exposure that extractions were required to get her mouth free of infection and pain. Less severe pockets were treated with a great product called Clindoral Gel, which is a gel that fills the pocket and slowly releases an antibiotic to prevent debris and bacteria from accumulating, giving the gums a chance to heal back down around the tooth. Hopefully the periodontal pocket treatments and a strategic home dental care plan will help prevent any further tooth loss and pain. Her mouth will soon feel better than it has in months, and we bet her family appreciates the better breath!
