Congratulations to our latest CYTAUXZOON (“Bobcat Fever”) SURVIVOR, BB King! While this tick-borne disease is frequently fatal, this sweet boy is doing great at his follow-up exam and treatment session. We expect BB King to make a full recovery from this awful disease!

Cytauxzoon felis, a one-celled blood parasite spread by ticks, causes the severe disease Cytauxzoonosis in cats. Relatively new to the veterinary world, Cytauxzoon was first recognized as a pathogen in the Branson area in 1976.
