This poor dog seemed totally fine at home, but on his annual physical exam, we noticed a “slab fracture” of a main chewing tooth (can you see the problem in photo 1?). This HURTS and the inside of this tooth was infected (see photo 2 with the outer fractured piece removed–wish we could share the foul smell we found in there too!). This guy came back in to have the damage tooth extracted (see post-op photo 3), and he’s now on his way to a comfortable mouth that is less likely to spread bacterial infections into his blood stream.
